West Montrose Covered Bridge
West Montrose Covered Bridge
The bridge is located in West Montrose, Ontario and is one of the oldest covered bridges in Canada, built in 1880-1881. The 8 woodblocks were hand carved over a 2 week period. I have used traditional Japanese printing techniques with water based inks applied with brushes and printed with a baren. The video shows the overlay and build of colour through the printing of the 8 blocks.

Forest Tangle
The rain forests on the west coast of Canada are rich with life. The trees are mixed evergreens with some deciduous trees like Red Alder and Big Leaf Maple. The forest floors are covered with moss and ferns.
